Anne Alden - Artist Statement

I make oil paintings which focus on the luminosity and atmosphere of the natural and supernatural worlds.

Observers of my work are meant to catch a moment of intense beauty and intriguing narrative; a brief moment of discovery and awe.

It is my desire that my art provide a distraction from our intense world and provide momentary relief to the viewers. It should allow a breath to be taken, a realization that there is much more to this world, and perhaps a personal reset to keep on moving forward.
