Anne Alden Biography

Anne Alden is a Washington-based visual artist working in oil, acrylic, and mixed media. Her practice focuses on light, atmosphere, and expansive landscape, creating immersive paintings that explore the relationship between perception and space.

Alden’s artistic development spans decades, shaped by early training, continued study during her service in the U.S. Navy, and later formal education. She earned a BFA in Visual Communication from Northwest College of Art and Design and maintains a multidisciplinary practice that includes fine art, illustration, and design.

Since 2000, she has sustained an independent studio practice, producing commissioned work, murals, and a 24-volume illustrated book series. She currently lives and works in the remote Okanogan Highlands of Washington.
